The Verle & Elizabeth Annis Library Endowed Fund was established in 2002 with a bequest from the estate of Mrs. Elizabeth Annis.  The Annis Fund supports the acquisition of books, pamphlets, periodicals and other valuable research materials relating to the history of California between 1820 and 1890, with emphasis on pioneering California history.

Elizabeth Annis became involved with UCI in its earliest years as a founding member of the Friends of the Library, and was a dedicated supporter until she passed away in 2000.  The beneficiaries of her legacy of support are the generations of students, faculty, and scholars who will use the Libraries’ collections on Early California History to make new discoveries and expand our knowledge of this important topic.
