The Libraries are pleased to announce an exciting new website for Library Partners and Friends at partners.lib.uci.edu. The new site provides easy access to a multitude of high-level academic electronic resources for personal research and lifelong learning. Launched this Fall, the website also provides helpful information on visiting the library, library news and events, and joining the Partners of the UCI Libraries.

Up to now, electronic resources that are free and open to the public have been available on the libraries’ main website, but access to them was integrated with thousands of resources restricted only to the campus community. The E-Research page on the new site provides easy access to only those resources that are free through one simple search interface. You can find a range of authoritative websites, newspapers, quick reference materials (like dictionaries and almanacs), and selected databases and online journals that contain up-to-date information across a wide variety of subject areas.

In addition to these free resources, the E-Research section also provides exclusive access to the premium electronic resources of the ProQuest Research Library to Partners of the UCI Libraries at the Patron level or above. From business and political science to literature and psychology, the ProQuest Research Library provides access to articles from a wide range of popular and academic subjects. Titles include: The Economist, Smithsonian, Consumer Reports, Sports Illustrated, Harvard International Review, PC World, Money and many more. ProQuest covers the top 150 core academic subject areas extensively so not only is it an invaluable database for a number of different academic disciplines, it’s also accessible to readers and researchers at every level. Library Partners and Friends may sign up for this exciting new benefit via the website or by calling the Library Development Office at 949.824.4651.

We encourage you to visit this exciting new website and find out the many ways that you can connect with the UCI Libraries!
