Brill's Companion to Ancient Scholarship aims at providing a reference work in the field of ancient Greek and Byzantine scholarship and grammar, thus encompassing the broad and multifaceted philological and linguistic research activity during the entire Greek Antiquity and the Middle Ages.

Fugitive Slave Advertisement in the City Gazette: Charleston South Carolina, 1787-1797 - $120
This is a collection of more than one thousand transcribed advertisements from Charleston's daily newspaper. The advertisements give insight not only into slave resistance, agency, and culture, but also into eighteenth century material life, economy, and racial ideology.

First U.S. History Textbooks: Constructing and Disseminating the American Tale in the Nineteenth Century - $100
This book traces the construction of the story of America-the creation myth that celebrates US exceptionalism-in the textbooks aimed at children and families in the 19th century.

This text is an introduction to the technology used in digital humanities research for historical scholarship. It covers text mining, topic modeling, data visualization, and network analysis.  


Technology

SMART Kapp Interactive Whiteboards - $1,000 Each (3 Desired)
The SMARTkapp board enables students to collaborate with each other in a simple yet powerful way. Students may write and draw on the capture board like a regular dry erase board. They can then connect a Bluetooth -enabled mobile device to the capture board. When the mobile device is connected, they share content with others and save it for future reference. These boards will be installed at Ayala Science Library, Langson Library and the Libraries' Multimedia Resource Center.

Sony Portable Projectors - $350 Each (4 Desired)
These mobile projectors will be available for student check out at the Libraries' Multimedia Resource Center. They deliver HD quality projection via an HDMI and MHL connection and Bluetooth® audio. Students may use them for presentations or sharing content with each other in a collaborative study environment.

Livescribe Smartpen - $200 Each (10 Desired)
A pen that allows students to handwrite notes on paper and then upload them into a smartphone or tablet. The pen also records audio that's synchronized with written notes using the mics on smartphone or tablet. In the Livescribe+ mobile app, handwritten notes become more organized and better utilized as they are able to be tagged, searched or converted to text. These pens will be available for use at Ayala Science Library and Langson Library in addition to checkout at the Libraries' Multimedia Resource Center.
