New Endowment for the Anne Frank Visiting Researcher Award

ImageThis year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Southeast Asian Archive (SEAA), part of the UCI Libraries Special Collections and Archives. The SEAA was established in 1987 to document the experiences of refugees and immigrants from Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam who resettled in the United States after the end of the Vietnam War.

We are pleased to share that, in this milestone year, the UCI Libraries received a generous gift from an anonymous donor to create the Southeast Asian Archive Award Endowment Fund to support the Southeast Asian Archive Anne Frank Visiting Researcher Award.

This award, in honor of Anne Frank, the librarian who founded the Southeast Asian Archive, is given annually to one individual researcher who lives outside of Orange County.

The award defrays expenses for traveling to Irvine and conducting research in the Southeast Asian Archive. The creation of this endowment fund will provide ongoing support for generations of future scholars to visit to the UCI Libraries to use the Southeast Asian Archive.
