As the campus continues its rapid growth, the Libraries are adding personnel to meet the increasing demands of students and faculty, and to maintain excellence in service and innovation. Over the past year, the Libraries have recruited a number of outstanding new executive appointees in information technology, collection development, and administration, as well as two new Research Librarians.

Deborah Sunday is Associate University Librarian for Administrative Services, with responsibility for human resources, finance, and facilities. She has had an impressive career in academic libraries, including serving as Assistant Vice Provost for University Libraries at the University of Connecticut. Her Master of Library and Information Science degree is from the University of Texas at Austin, and she has a B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Fullerton. Adrian Petrisor is Director of Information Technology. He has 13 years of experience in the IT field, including various similar positions in the private sector in his native Romania. He also served as Coordinator of Computer Applications at Florida State University. Adrian holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, an M.B.A., and is a certified Project Management Professional. James Galbraith is Head of Collection Development, with responsibility for coordinating the collecting activities of all research librarians and managing the library collections budget. Galbraith comes to UCI from Wake Forest University, where he was Head of Collection Management. He received a Master of Library and Information Science degree from SUNY Buffalo, an M.A. in History from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a B.A. in History from SUNY Buffalo. Rebecca Imamoto is Research Librarian for History and African American Studies. She previously served as Undergraduate Services Librarian at the University of Colorado and was responsible for instruction to undergraduates and other research services. Becky is completing an M.A. in History from California State University, Sacramento. She has a B.A. in History from UC Davis and received her M.S. in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Robert Johnson is Research Librarian for Nursing and Allied Health, the first appointee in support of this new program in the College of Health Sciences. Robert comes to UCI from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he was Education Services Librarian, providing instruction and research support for the medical center. Johnson holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Dominican University in Illinois. His B.A. from the University of Minnesota is in English Literature.
