This three-volume set covers not only the military aspects of hundreds of wars, but also situates each war in its socio-political context. With around 2,000 A-Z entries, this work covers major wars, rebellions and revolutions from 3,500 BCE to the present, including the Crusades, the Revolutionary War, the Vietnam War and the Persian Gulf War.
