The Libraries’ need for more specialized books and references is constantly expanding. Our collections would greatly benefit from the acquisition of the items listed below. If you would like to contribute, or if you would like more information on how you can help, contact the Library Development Office at 949.824.4651.
Human Rights: Critical Concepts in Political Science. $1,390
This collection brings together representative selections of the best writing on the main dimensions of human rights. One of the most notable advances of the last half century has been the development of international human rights norms and procedures, with some degree of institutionalization within the United Nations. Human rights, perhaps as much as any topic of global significance, has reflected the influence of transnational civic associations, which have pushed governments and international institutions to take the subject seriously.
CQ Voting and Elections Collection. $1,500
This important resource provides context-driven intelligence on the state of elections in the United States. The collection integrates a wealth of data, authoritative analyses, concise explanations, and historical material that will facilitate both research and understanding of voting and elections in America.
Essay and General Literature Index Retrospective. $10,155
This multidisciplinary database indexes essays in collections or anthologies that are of high interest to those in the humanities and social sciences. No other database or library catalog indexes capture this information, making it invaluable to researchers at UCI. This retrospective complements our current subscription of the Essay and General Literature index, which covers 1985 to the present.
