Eight UCI students received Fellowships with financial support for their research projects through the UCI Libraries-Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program Fellowship Award (LURF). Co-funded by the Libraries' Nellie Ansley Reeves Award Endowed Fund and the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP), LURF awards provide recognition and support to selected fellows whose research projects make significant use of library resources, demonstrate creative applications of research methodology, or focus on research about the scholarly information process."The LURF fellowship and UCI's world-class library made all the difference in making my ambitious project feasible."
"The LURF fellowship and UCI's world-class library made all the difference in making my ambitious project feasible," said literary journalism student Brendan Allison, the winner of a $500 award. "The funds went not just towards encouraging me to use the library but, on a more practical level, to support my trips to the Orange County Archives in Santa Ana on a regular basis."
