Named Library Collection Funds

One of the Libraries' highest priorities is "Building Collections of Excellence." Ground-breaking faculty research and high-quality student instruction are made possible with first-rate library collections of print and electronic materials. Leadership gifts help the Libraries acquire traditional and advanced materials that enhance the value of a student's educational experience and lead researchers to new discoveries.

  • Named collection endowments create a legacy of a stable funding to acquire important journals, books and other materials, both print and electronic.
  • Named expendable funds provide flexibility to meet immediate needs for cutting-edge research publications in new programs and emerging disciplines.

We sincerely appreciate our donors who have established a Named Library Collection Fund.

Gifts of $50,000 or more establish a fund in the donor's name or in honor of someone special in their lives. A donor webpage is created that describes the fund, and a digital bookplate and recognition note are added to the online catalog record of each title acquired with the fund.  For generations to come, each time the book record is viewed, the donor is recognized and their gift appreciated.

Collection fund donors may select one of five bookplate images that are representative of the Libraries and the UCI campus.

Ayala bookplate

UCI Seal bookplate

Anteater bookplate

A gift of $50,000 or more may be fulfilled over a period of up to five years. Gifts of $50,000 or more also entitle the donor to create a specially designed bookplate in their honor.

Donors receive much recognition, but the greatest reward is the satisfaction of knowing that you will be supporting the intellectual work of UCI faculty and students now and for generations to come.
