UC Irvine Libraries Digital Bookplate Program

In 2011, the Libraries implemented the Digital Bookplate Program to provide enhanced recognition of the impact of donor collection funds and to enable donors to more easily see and share online the titles purchased with their fund.

For each named collection fund of $25,000 or more, a digital bookplate is created bearing the name of the donor or honoree, and a webpage is established that describes the purpose of the fund.  For each title purchased with the fund, a permanent note is made in the online catalog record and a link made to the digital bookplate. For generations to come, each time the title is viewed, the donor will be recognized, and their gift will be appreciated.

Collection fund donors select one of five bookplate images that represent the Libraries and the UCI campus.  Gifts of $50,000 or more entitle the donor to create a specially designed bookplate in their honor.
