Carole Creek Bailey Library Endowed Fund
The Carole Creek Bailey Library Endowed Fund was established in 2004 with a generous gift by Carole Creek Bailey, a 1974 UCI Social Sciences alumna. The fund supports the acquisition of materials in social sciences and history, two disciplines of keen interest to Mrs. Bailey.
Carole Bailey was the first alumna to establish an endowed fund at the UCI Libraries. A lifelong reader, she was a dedicated and generous supporter of the Libraries until her passing in June of 2009.
Materials purchased with this fund include:
- Imprisoning medieval women : the non-judicial confinement and abduction of women in England, c.1170-1509 / Gwen Seabourne
- Contesting histories : German and Jewish Americans and the legacy of the Holocaust / Michael Schuldiner
- Navigating the contours of African childhood experiences : multidisciplinary perspectives / edited by Gwatirera Javangwe and Innocent Chirisa
- Health and wellness in antiquity through the Middle Ages / William H. York
